Abstract:Primary Sj?gren"s syndrome (pSS) is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease. In mild cases, patients may experience dryness of the mouth and eyes, while severe cases can involve multiple systems, significantly affecting the patient"s quality of life. Although there is currently no radical cure for this disease, traditional Chinese medicine offers certain advantages in alleviating the symptoms of pSS. This article integrates the theoretical framework and clinical experience of the Feng"s Bi disease academic school to investigate its application in the treatment of pSS. The Feng"s Bi disease academic school is grounded in the treatment philosophy of "clearing dryness and toxins, producing body fluids, and unblocking the body fluids," and it advocates a comprehensive treatment strategy that includes nourishing yin and moistening dryness, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, as well as resolving phlegm and dissipating stagnation. By analyzing the typical prescriptions of Feng"s academic school, this article highlights the unique advantages and application effects of this approach in the treatment of pSS. Clinical practice has demonstrated that the distinctive academic perspective of "deficiency of yin and fluid stagnation, astringent stagnation of fluids" within the Feng"s Bi disease academic school is not only advanced and innovative in theory but also exhibits significant practical efficacy. The clinical value of this approach is of great importance in advancing the role of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of Sj?gren"s syndrome.
