To evaluatethe efficacy and safety of Shegan Mahuang Decoction in the treatment of cough variant asthma.the computer searched China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIpdatabase (VIP), Wanfang database (Wangfang), China Medical Biology (CBM), and PubMed database to find clinical RCTs that met the inclusion criteria. A total of 20 RCts were included.the quality of the literature was evaluated using the Cochrane Manual of Systematic Review, and Meta-analysis was performed with Stata 14.0 software.the results showed that the total effective rate [RR=1.223, 95%CI(1.171,1.283), P=0.00＜0.5] (1) subgroup analysis indicated that the course of treatment was 2-4 weeks [RR=1.224, 95%CI(1.163, 1.290),p=0.000]; the course of treatment was more than 4 weeks [RR=1.210,95%CI(1.117, 1.311),p=0.000] (2) the degree of remission [ES=2.750,95%CI was[2.116,3.547),p=0.000<0.05];PEF[SMD=1.781,95%CI(0.840,2.723),p=0.000<0.05];FEV1/FVC[SMD=1.233,95%CI(0.485,1.981),z=3.23,p=0.001].Symptom score: TCM symptom score [SMD=-2.195, 95%CI (-3.469,-0.921),p=0.001＜0.5]; cough score [WMD=-1.582, 95%CI(-2.061,-1.102),p=0.000<0.05]. Inflammation index: TNF-α[SMD=-1.342, 95%CI (-2.013,-0.670),p=0.040＜0.05]. Adverse reactions [RR=0.311, 95%CI (0.133, 0.726),p=0.007＜0.05].the tAS sequential analysis reduces the false positive probability of traditional Meta analysis and obtains more reliable results.the GRADE evaluation showed that the quality of the evidence for the overall response rate was low, and the quality of the remaining evidence was very low.Conclusion: Meta-analysis shows that Shegan Mahuang Decoction combined with western medicine in the treatment of cough variant asthma can significantly improve the curative effect, improve the clinical symptoms, reduce the recuRRence rate and reduce the adverse reactions. However, due to the limitations of the quantity and quality of the included literature, the above conclusions need to be verified by more high-quality studies.
