Abstract:Objective: To systematically assess the efficacy and security of acupotomy therapy for the injury of infrapatellar fat pad. Methods: Randomized controlled trials of acupotomy therapy in the treatment of the injury of infrapatellar fat pad were searched from CNKI, WF, VIP, SinoMed, PubMed, Cochrane Library. Relevant data were extracted from the standard-compliant RCTs. RevMan5.3 software were used for meta-analyses. Results: Eleven randomized controlled trials were included which involving 762 cases totally. There were 385 cases in the experimental group and 377 cases in the control group. Meta-analysis showed that the total effective rate[Odds Ratio=5.21,95%CI(3.04,8.91),Z=6.02,P<0.00001], cure rate[Odds Ratio=3.12,95%CI(2.08,4.67),Z=5.50,P<0.0001], visual analogue scale[Mean Difference=-1.17,95%CI(-1.66,-0.68),Z=4.66,P<0.00001]and recurrence rate[Odds Ratio=0.29,95%CI(0.14,0.61),Z=3.30,P=0.001] of the experimental group shows better than those of the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant. Conclusion:The effect of acupotomy therapy on the treatment of infrapatellar fat pad injury is better than that of other therapy including acupuncture, massage therapy, electroacupuncture and so on.But more randomized controlled trials which are of high quality as well as contain quantities of samples are needed.
